About: The Godfather is widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time and is ranked the second greatest film in American cinema by the American Film Institute (Behind Citizen Kane). The 1972 epic crime drama featured Marlon Brando as “Don Vito Corleone”, the head of a powerful Italian-American crime family, based on Mario Puzo's best-selling 1969 novel of the same name. The artwork was inspired by the quote in the film “ In Sicily, women are more dangerous than shotguns!” It features an actual map of Sicily showing the village of Corleone - the fictional birth place of Don Corleone (Above his RHS eye). The stylised graphic image of Marlon Brando’s face is rendered to appear like the contours of a map. with Warhol inspired shotgun screen prints overlaid.
